Javier Etxebeste

Degree in Economics and Business from ESTE with an MBA from Purdue University.

Served as President of Yahoo! Iberia and General Manager of Search, Directories and Markets at Yahoo! Europe. Commercial Director at Pepsi and financial Director for southern Europe of Pepsico Restaurants.

 

With a Degree in Economics and Business from ESTE (University of Deusto) and an MBA from Purdue University, his latest success in his long career has been at Yahoo! España, which he joined in 1999.

In 2001, Javier was named General Director of Yahoo! Iberia and has recently served as General Manager of Search, Directories and Markets at Yahoo! Europe. Since joining Yahoo! he led the development of the company, defining and executing strategies in Spain and Portugal with the help of a team of 40 professionals. As company Director, he was able to establish Yahoo! as the leading web site in Spain. He has also directed a variety of projects in Europe in areas such as banking and finance, communications and headed the launch of Yahoo! in Catalan in 2002. With his designation as General Manager of Search, Directories and Markets of Yahoo! Europe, Javier occupied the top post in one of the strategic divisions of the company in Europe.

Javier Etxebeste is a proven executive with extensive experience in the real economy. He has served as Commercial Director of Pepsi and Financial Director for southern Europe of Pepsico Restaurants (Tricon), responsible for the expansion of such well-known chains as Pizza Hut and Kentucky Fried Chicken. In addition, Javier has worked for over seven years as a consultant in firms such as Bain&Co., Cluster-Diamond and The Mac Group.

He is a member of the Business Association, a member of the Topbrands Council of Spain, as well as a member of the Board of the Fundación Asmoz de la Sociedad de Estudios Vascos. Javier Etxebeste is also a Speaker of the Universidad Internacional Menéndez Pelayo, participated in the Information Society Commission of the Spanish Senate, drafting the Information Services Act. Furthermore, he has spoken before the principal business associations: IESE, Recoletos, IEDGE IIR and is a member of the Board of AECE (Asociación Española de Comercio Electrónico).
